2015 Summer Letter from the Principal
Welcome to Cupertino High School, where we have been preparing Pioneers for the future for over fifty-five years.
Cupertino High School is rich with traditions and programs. We encourage all of our students to find their niche, to blaze their own trail through high school, making friends and memories along the way. Students who get involved will find themselves more connected to school and will perform better academically. I encourage each student to choose two activities to pursue, from our full range of sports and performing arts groups to the multitude of clubs and service organizations.
We set high standards for student performance in the classroom as well. Our teachers are committed to seeing each student succeed in meeting or exceeding state standards as well as preparing for life after high school. Resources are available to help students achieve. Each week, there are two tutorial periods where students may access teachers for individual assistance, study with friends, or complete assignments. We also offer an academic support center after school. At the center, students may work on their assignments, use the computers, and get help as needed from peer and staff tutors. We also encourage students to take advantage of the information and assistance available in the College and Career Center and guidance office.
I always tell our students that Pioneers work hard, have fun, and treat one another well. We hold high expectations for their learning and behavior--and we support them along the way. We encourage our students to work together to create a kind, respectful community.
Parents, you are welcome as well! Please join us in a variety of ways to get connected to the school and to other parents. Freshman parents, we welcome you to Parent Crew on the evening of August 11th. It's a great opportunity to get your questions answered, meet some key staff, and connect with other parents.
If you have questions or concerns, please call me at (408)366-7370 or your student’s assistant principal.
