THE HORIZONS PROGRAM

Horizons is an alternative educational program for students with special needs who have struggled within comprehensive high school settings. Academic instruction provides one-to-one directed study, in combination with transition and counseling services, to help students earn credits towards a high school diploma.

Academic Program

Horizons students are expected to meet district requirements for a high school diploma. The curriculum is designed to meet students' individualized learning needs. Instruction is primarily given on a 1:1 basis to help students gain credits towards their diploma.

Many students at Horizons receive counseling services as part of their IEP program. This section offers students and parents at Horizons helpful information and links to different community resources available for any type of issues related to help for with difficult situations or personal issues.
