Important Safeway Change to eScrip Program

Effective November 1st 2013 , purchases made at Safeway using a credit card no longer generate eScrip contributions towards our school. All other forms of payment (Debit Card, Check, Cash, Fast Forward Debit Card, SmartCheck, Gift Card, WIC, CalFresh) continue to earn money for CHS. You may still pay for your groceries with a credit card, but your purchases do not generate contributions for Cupertino High School.

For more information regarding the eScrip program at CHS, please contact Kim Zea or go to for complete details.

Support CHS with eScrip!

eScrip Program

Not yet registered with eScrip? Simply go to to register your Safeway, credit and debit cards and select Cupertino High ASB, #6499420 as your group.  It's free, safe and easy!  Cupertino ASB will receive contributions from participating merchants when you register and shop with them (our largest contributor is Safeway, so if you already shop there, make it count for us by registering your Safeway card!).  Our goal is to reach 1,000 supporters this year to bring in more money. Encourage your relatives and friends to register, too!

For more information regarding the eScrip program at Cupertino High School, please contact Kim Zea or go to for complete details.

More student programs to come!

Please stay tuned for some of the following programs :
  • Career OPtions

COPs is a series of monthly seminars focused on a career option. A panel of two to three speakers from a given career field provide their perspectives to the students. The seminars are open to all students. We need parent volunteers to help in identifying and organizing panels and bringing speakers. If you can be a speaker or can help with this program, please see the volunteer form or contact Vandana Agarwal.

  • Job Shadow

In 2012-2013, students had an opportunity to explore the Executive Briefing Center and saw the Telepresence technology at Cisco systems headquarters in San Jose through a job shadow experience. If you are willing to organize an event at your company and inspire our students with exposure to the products and business of your company, please get in touch with PTSA through volunteer form or contact Vandana Agarwal to discuss your idea and timeline.

A message from our PTSA President

Cupertino High School’s Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is looking forward to the 2014-2015 school year and we are ready to help you, as parents, to become involved in the activities at the high school.  We have a full board of officers (see below) who represent our community, yet there are many opportunities for you to lend a hand at the high school.  Assisting the PTSA is much easier than helping with many of the activities in elementary school so we hope you will take some time to volunteer, and in the process, to see some of the great happenings at CHS.

Our main fundraising effort is a direct donation campaign which totaled over $30,000 last year. We’d love to exceed that this year, with a suggestion of $150 per family (in addition to the $10 PTSA dues.) Company matching funds can double your donation, so please ask your employer if they match donations or even reimburse for volunteer hours that you serve at the school.  Membership and donation forms will be on the website and in your August mailing. Most students bring the forms and checks with them to Pioneer Days in August.  We thank you in advance for your support.

What happens with these funds?

Parent Education Events such as A Roadmap to College, Finding Kind (anti-bullying) and Building a Blueprint for Success were events presented to audiences filled with parents.

Student support through economical and on-site SAT prep courses and a Career Day in which students were able to hear about several career options for their future as well as the paths that led the professionals to their careers.

Staff Appreciation events such as monthly brunches and luncheons.

Grants to staff members to meet a wide spectrum of needs at CHS.

Challenge Success, a Stanford program that has polled our student population and will work with parents, students and staff on managing stress and culture at Cupertino High School.

How can you help? First we need to hear your voice and know your concerns.  Please subscribe to Our meetings are typically on the third Wednesday of the month in the College and Career Center and open to everyone.  We ask that all parents and students and staff become members.  Membership is a bargain at $10 per person and makes you a part of the National PTA, an organization that advocates for education across the nation.  We hope to enroll over 500 members this year.

Second, we can use your time.  There are chances for you to help at a brunch or lunch; assist with our various events and share your talents. We have many parents that offer their skills in math by tutoring students who need 1:1 assistance.  Responding to calls for assistance or information helps us to meet the needs of the school.  We hope you can find something that fits into the busy schedules that we all keep.

Lastly, in addition to donating and becoming a PTSA member, please come to a meeting. You will hear updates from the Principal, Teacher and Student Representatives as well as hear about programs in progress.  We make our meetings as succinct as possible and can always answer your questions after the business is conducted.  I look forward to seeing you at a meeting and sharing my excitement of the great educational environment our children experience at Cupertino High School.
